Alkali-tolerant Protein A, Biotinylated
Biotinylated Alkali-tolerant Recombinant Protein A that has been covalently conjugated to biotin molecules.
Compared with the native Protein A, Alkali-tolerant Protein A has been modified to (1) enhance the specific binding capacity to the Fc region of immunoglobulin molecules, and (2) to improve the protein stability and alkali resistance.
For efficient covalently conjugation to resins, one cysteine residue has been inserted at the C-terminus of the Alkali-torelant Protien A.
Protein A is a cell wall component produced by a number of strains of Staphylococcus aureus. It consists of a single polypeptide chain with few or no carbohydrate. Recombinant Protein A is produced in E. coli and in the same manner as native Protein A. The Protein A molecule contains four high-affinity binding sites that can interact with the Fc region from IgG of a number of species. Optimal binding occurs at pH 8.2, but binding is also effective at physiological conditions (pH 7.0 to 7.6).
Applications
Luna Nanotech Protein A is provided for research laboratory or bioprocessing purposes only. Not for use in diagnostic or theraputic human or animal applications.
