G25 Desalting Spin Coulmns, 0.5 mL/0.8 mL
The G25 centrifugal desalting column utilizes gel filtration chromatography based on
cross-linked dextran as the matrix. This matrix is a porous, high-molecular-weight polymer with a three-dimensional network structure, functioning as a molecular sieve that separates molecules according to size differences. During chromatography, biomolecules larger than the gel pores (e.g., proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, etc., typically with molecular weights > 5,000 Da) are excluded from the interior of the gel particles. They travel through the inter-particle voids and move most rapidly, eluting first. Small molecules (such as buffer components, salts, dyes, etc.), being able to enter the pores of the gel particles, are eluted last.
In centrifugal desalting, the maximum loading volume can reach up to 30% of the column bed volume. The G25 centrifugal desalting column enables rapid desalting during multiple-sample processing and also delivers a high sample recovery.
