Guanidine hydrochloride, Biotechnology Grade, 99.7%
Guanidine hydrochloride is a strong chaotropic agent widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry. It disrupts hydrogen bonding, denatures proteins, and dissociates protein–nucleic acid complexes by destabilizing the tertiary and secondary structures of biomolecules. Because of its strong protein-denaturing ability, it is commonly used in RNA and DNA extraction, protein unfolding and refolding studies, and cell lysis buffers.
