The PuroSPIN™ Insect DNA Kit is designed for fast and straightforward extraction of DNA—including genomic, mitochondrial, and viral—from a wide range of insect samples such as mosquitoes, bees, lice, ticks, etc, whether fresh, frozen, or preserved. The resulting DNA is ready for downstream applications like PCR, genotyping, and microarrays.
Up to 50 mg of insects per sample can be proceeded in less then 1 hour. DNA purified with the PuroSPIN™ Insect DNA Kit is 20-40 kb in size with an A260/280 ratio of 1.7 - 1.9 and A260/230 ratio of ≥ 2.0 indicating a high quality of the product. The typical yield ranges between 1 - 10 μg and may vary between different sample types
