The PuroMAG™ Insect DNA Kit is designed for fast and straightforward extraction of DNA—including genomic, mitochondrial, and viral—from a wide range of insect samples such as mosquitoes, bees, lice, ticks, etc, whether fresh, frozen, or preserved. It greatly simplifies the purification process by incorporating a convenient and easy-to-use extraction technology based on nucleic acid binding to silica-coated magnetic beads. The resulting DNA is ready for downstream applications like PCR, genotyping, and microarrays.
Up to 50 mg of insects per sample can be proceeded in less then 1 hour. DNA purified with the PuroMAG™ Insect DNA Kit is 20-40 kb in size with an A260/280 ratio of 1.7 - 1.9 and A260/230 ratio of ≥ 2.0 indicating a high quality of the product.
