Poly-D-Lysine Solution, 10X, Sterile, for Cell Culture Coating
A sterile 10X poly-D-lysine solution for coating culture surfaces so adherent cells attach and spread more readily. Dilute it to 1X before use.
How it works
Poly-D-lysine is a positively charged synthetic polymer that coats glass or plastic and attracts the negatively charged cell membrane. Its D-form is not recognised by cell proteases, so cells cannot break the coating down, which makes it a common choice for neurons and other cells grown for long periods.
Key features
- Sterile 10X concentrate
- Dilute to a 1X coating solution before use
- 5 mL of concentrate gives 50 mL of 1X working solution
How to use
- Dilute the 10X solution 1:10 with sterile water or buffer.
- Cover the culture surface with the 1X solution and leave it to coat.
- Remove the solution, rinse if your protocol requires it, let the surface dry, then seed the cells.
