Q (quaternary ammonium) FF Ion Exchange Resin
Product Description
Q (quaternary ammonium) FF Ion Exchange Resin is a strong anion exchange resin used in chromatography for the purification of biomolecules. It consists of crosslinked 6% agarose beads with covalently attached quaternary ammonium (Q) functional groups, which have a permanent positive charge. It separates proteins based on their isoelectric point (pI). For binding, the operating pH should be at least one unit above the pI of the target protein.
Product Features
- High chemical stability
- The strong anion exchanger is a quaternary amine group, which is permanently positively charged over a wide pH range (2–12).
- The hydrophilic nature of the base matrix ensures low levels of non-specific binding leading to low levels of host cell-derived impurities.
- The larger 90 µm average bead size allows for high flow rates, which is beneficial for faster separations and efficient scale-up.
- The resin is stable for long-term use across a wide pH range of 2–12, and can withstand cleaning protocols with a pH up to 14.
Storage
Store at 2-8 °C, valid for 12 months.
