PuroMAG™ Total RNA Purification Plus Kit

The PuroMAG™ Total RNA Purification Kit is designed to purify total RNA from bacteria, mammalian cells, yeast, or animal tissue. It greatly simplifies the extraction process by incorporating a convenient and easy-to-use extraction technology based on nucleic acid binding to silica-coated magnetic beads.
 
In comparison to our standard PuroMAG™ Total RNA Purification Kit, the Plus kit adds an additional filtration step that removes the insoluble and non-digested fraction as well as insuring elimination of genomic DNA from the lysate before mixing it with the magnetic beads. This prevents contaminating materials from binding to and blocking parts of the magnetic bead silica coating, leading to an increased RNA yield and higher purity of the final product. This is particularly benficial when workign with large samples that contain a lot of starting material that needs to be digested.
 
This kit includes DNase I digestion step to remove any contaminating DNA.
 
This kit can be used with a manual magnetic rack or automated purification systems. The high-throughput protocols have been optimized for Auto-Pure Nucleic Acid Purification systems, but can be adapted for other purification systems (i.e. Kingfisher Flex, Hamilton Microlab STAR, Biomek FX, etc.). The kit can also be used with our PuroMAGTM 8-Position Mini Magnetic Rack (Cat# MGR-008) and PuroMAGTM16-Position Mini Magnetic Rack (Cat# MGR-016) for fast and convenient manual purification of RNA. This kit can also be used to perform an RNA cleanup after DNase I treatment or other enzymatic treatments. High quality RNA extracted with the PuroMAG™ Total RNA Purification Kit can be used for a range of downstream applications such as reverse-transcription qPCR, Northern blotting, or microarray analysis.
