Mycoplasma Elimination Reagent (SweMyco-1+2) (100×)
A two-component mycoplasma elimination treatment that is used in sequence: SweMyco-1 for four days, then SweMyco-2 for three days. Each component is supplied as 5 × 1 mL at 100X.
How it works
Mycoplasma have no cell wall, so antibiotics that act on cell walls do not work against them. This treatment uses quinolone, tetracycline and macrolide antibiotics, which attack mycoplasma through DNA replication and protein synthesis. Using the two components one after the other helps clear contamination while giving the cells a change of formulation partway through.
