SweTransDNA Transfection Reagent
A cationic-polymer reagent for transfecting plasmid DNA into cultured cells. The 0.5 mL pack is used at 1 to 5 µL of reagent per µg of DNA.
How it works
Plasmid DNA is negatively charged, and so is the cell surface. A cationic polymer binds the DNA and packs it into small positively charged complexes that stick to the cell membrane and are taken up into the cell by endocytosis, delivering the plasmid so the gene it carries can be expressed.
Key features
- Cationic polymer chemistry
- Dose of 1 to 5 µL per µg of DNA
- 0.5 mL pack
How to use
- Dilute the plasmid DNA in serum-free medium.
- Add the reagent at 1 to 5 µL per µg of DNA, mix, and leave the complexes to form.
- Add the mixture to the cells and assay expression after the time your experiment needs.
