Fluo-4 AM Fluorescent Calcium Ion Detection Kit, 100 Tests
A fluorescent kit for detecting intracellular calcium with the Fluo-4 AM probe, using a wash-based protocol. Each kit covers 100 tests.
How it works
Fluo-4 AM is a cell-permeant calcium indicator. Once inside cells, esterases remove the AM groups and trap Fluo-4, which gives a much brighter green signal when it binds calcium. A rise in fluorescence therefore reflects a rise in intracellular calcium, for example after stimulation of a receptor or channel.
Key features
- Fluo-4 AM probe 20 µL and detection buffer 20 mL
- 100 µL per well of a 96-well plate, used at 1:500
- Wash-based protocol
- 100 tests per kit
How to use
- Dilute the probe 1:500 in detection buffer and add 100 µL to each well of cells.
- Incubate, then wash to remove extracellular dye.
- Add your stimulus and read the green fluorescence on a plate reader or by microscopy.
