A WST-8 colorimetric kit designed for proliferation and cytotoxicity measurements in 3D cell cultures such as spheroids, read by absorbance at 450 nm. It comes in two sizes: 1 mL (100 tests) and 5 × 1 mL (500 tests).
How it works
WST-8 is a water-soluble tetrazolium salt that living cells reduce to an orange formazan dye, so the colour of the medium reflects the number of viable cells. This kit is optimised for 3D cultures such as spheroids, where standard assays can be slow to reach the cells inside.
