Cell Counting Kit-8 Plus (CCK-8 Plus), One-Bottle WST-8 Viability Assay
A one-bottle WST-8 viability kit, read at 450 nm, for cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays in microplates. It comes in two sizes: 1 mL (about 100 tests) and 5 mL (about 500 tests).
How it works
WST-8 is a water-soluble tetrazolium salt. Dehydrogenases in living cells reduce it to an orange formazan dye that dissolves in the culture medium, so the absorbance at 450 nm rises with the number of viable cells. There is no crystal-dissolving step, and the reagent is supplied in a single bottle.
Key features
- One-bottle WST-8 reagent
- Absorbance read at 450 nm
- 1 mL is about 100 tests at 10 µL per well
- 5 mL is about 500 tests
How to use
- Seed and treat cells in a 96-well plate, with blank and untreated control wells.
- Add the reagent to each well and incubate.
- Read the absorbance at 450 nm and calculate viability against your controls.
