Click-iT EdU-555 Cell Proliferation Assay Kit
An EdU cell proliferation assay kit with an orange-red fluorescent dye (excitation 557 nm, emission 570 nm) for imaging, with Hoechst 33342 included for nuclear counterstaining. Each kit covers 100 tests.
How it works
EdU (5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine) is a thymidine analogue that cells build into new DNA while they replicate. A fluorescent azide then binds the EdU in a click reaction, so cells that were making DNA light up. Because the detection does not need the DNA to be denatured, cell structure and other stains are better preserved than with BrdU methods.
Key features
- Orange-red fluorescence, excitation 557 nm and emission 570 nm
- Hoechst 33342 included to stain all nuclei
- Designed for imaging
- 100 tests per kit
How to use
- Label proliferating cells with EdU in culture.
- Fix and permeabilise the cells.
- Run the click reaction with the fluorescent azide.
- Counterstain nuclei with Hoechst 33342, then image.
