Live/Dead Cell Double Staining Kit, Calcein-AM and PI, 100 Tests

A two-colour kit that stains live cells with Calcein-AM and dead cells with propidium iodide (PI), so they can be told apart by fluorescence. Each kit covers 100 tests.
How it works
Calcein-AM enters living cells, where esterases convert it to green-fluorescent calcein that stays inside intact cells. PI cannot cross the membrane of living cells, but it enters cells with damaged membranes and stains their nuclei red. Live and dead cells therefore show up in different colours in the same sample.

How to use
Dilute Calcein-AM and PI 1:500 in detection buffer to make the staining solution.
Add it to the cells and incubate.
Image the cells, or read them by flow cytometry or plate reader.
