LDH Cytotoxicity Assay Kit, Colorimetric, 490 nm, 100 Tests
A colorimetric kit that measures lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) released from damaged cells, using an INT/diaphorase reaction read at 490 nm. Each kit covers 100 tests.
How it works
LDH is an enzyme found inside cells. When the cell membrane is damaged, LDH leaks into the culture medium. In the assay, released LDH drives a reaction through diaphorase that reduces INT to a coloured product, so the absorbance at 490 nm rises with the amount of cell damage.
Key features
- INT/diaphorase colorimetric method
- Absorbance read at 490 nm
- 100 tests per kit
How to use
- Culture and treat cells in a multi-well plate, with untreated and maximum-release controls.
- Transfer culture supernatant to a fresh plate and add the reaction reagents.
- Incubate, then read the absorbance at 490 nm and calculate cytotoxicity against your controls.
