Calcein AM Cell Viability Assay Kit, Live-Cell Fluorescence, with Buffer
A fluorescence kit for detecting viable cells with Calcein AM, supplied with detection buffer. It comes in two sizes: 100 tests and 500 tests.
How it works
Calcein AM passes through the membrane of living cells. Inside, enzymes called esterases remove the AM groups, which traps green-fluorescent calcein in intact cells. Dead cells with damaged membranes do not retain the dye, so the green signal marks viable cells.
Key features
- Calcein AM solution (1000X) plus detection buffer
- 100 tests: Calcein AM 10 µL + detection buffer 10 mL
- 500 tests: Calcein AM 50 µL + detection buffer 50 mL
How to use
- Dilute the Calcein AM 1:1000 in detection buffer to make a working solution.
- Add the working solution to the cells and incubate.
- Read the green fluorescence with a microscope, plate reader or flow cytometer.
