Live/Dead Bacterial and Yeast Viability Kit, DMAO and PI, 40 Tests

A two-dye viability kit for bacteria and yeast, using DMAO and propidium iodide (PI). It is supplied for flow cytometry, plate and microscopy readouts and covers 40 tests by flow (200 by plate or microscopy).
How it works
DMAO is a green nucleic acid dye that stains cells with intact membranes, while PI only enters cells whose membranes are damaged and stains them red. Together they separate live from dead bacteria or yeast in the same sample, and the ratio of the two signals shows how many cells are viable.

How to use
Prepare the DMAO and PI staining mix at the dilution on your protocol.
Add it to your bacterial or yeast suspension and incubate in the dark.
Analyse by flow cytometry, plate reader or fluorescence microscope.
